Dr. Butala is a graduate of biology and psychology from Washington and Jefferson College in Pennsylvania. She graduated from Virginia Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine and moved to Virginia Beach where she practiced for a few years prior to finding her home at Princess Anne! While Dr. Butala enjoys all aspects of preventative care, she is particularly interested in small animal dentistry and integrative medicine. Dr. Butala likes to treat her patients with Western medicine as well as utilize acupuncture and Chinese herbs for comprehensive treatment. She obtained her certification in veterinary acupuncture from Chi University. Outside of work, Dr. Butala enjoys hiking with her dog, reading, watching Grey’s Anatomy and the Bachelor franchise, and indoor cycling on the Peloton. Originally from Latrobe, PA, she is an avid Pittsburgh Penguins hockey fan. Dr. Butala resides with her shelter dog, Spencer (who you will see hanging out in the office at Princess Anne), her three cats, Benson, Kiss, and B-Lynn, and her husband who is unfortunately, a Philadelphia Flyers fan.
