Dr. Karen Hauer Dr. Hauer has been the managing veterinarian at Princess Anne Veterinary Hospital since February 2010. She is originally from York, Pennsylvania and has lived in Virginia Beach since 2004. Dr. Hauer graduated from Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine in May 2004. She also received a B.S. in Agriculture and Life Sciences with a major in biochemistry and molecular biology from Mississippi State University in 2001. Dr. Hauer has a special interest in animal behavior, dentistry, and pain management. She has a Labrador Retriever, Knox and a Golden Retriever, Jerry. In her free time, Dr. Hauer enjoys going on adventures with her husband Kyle - hiking, kayaking, and backpacking. |

Dr. Kier Dr. Kier has been with Princess Anne Veterinary Hospital since 2002. He is a nationally accredited Veterinarian and is capable of issuing both domestic and international health certificates for families traveling with their pets. Dr. Kier is an active member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the South Hampton Roads Veterinary Medical Association. Dr. Kier's received his undergraduate degree from Virginia Tech where he graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Wildlife Science and minors in Animal Science and Biology. In 1998, Dr. Kier started his graduate education at the Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine, located on the island of St. Kitts in the Caribbean. His senior year was completed at the University of Georgia before returning back to Virginia. When not working at Princess Anne Veterinary Hospital, Dr. Kier enjoys spending time with his wife (a local emergency Veterinarian) and his three children (two daughters and a son). Clients will often see him with his family at soccer, gymnastic or scouting events. The Kier household has numerous pets including an Australian Shepherd, four cats and a number of fish tanks (both fresh and saltwater). |
